Maple french toast

Add a touch of flavor to your French toast. So good they will come back for more

Ingredients:

6 Slices of bread

2 eggs

1/4 milk or cream

1 Tbsp maple syrup

pinch of salt & pepper

1 Tbsp maple syrup for topping

1 Tbsp icing sugar​

Mix eggs, milk, syrup, salt and pepper. Dip bread in mixture (both sides). Fry until golden brown on each side. Top with icing sugar and maple syrup.

2 cups of warm water

2 pkgs of active yeast

1/2 cup sugar

Pinch of salt

2 eggs

1/4 cup Bertolli Extra Virgin olive oil

6 1/2-7 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350*F. Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, salt, eggs and oil. Whisk a couple times to beat eggs. Add 3 cups of flour and beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about an hour). I usually keep on top of stove as it heats up. Punch dough down and divide in half and shape into loaves (or rolls).

Nice light snack on their own or with a pasta dish.

Ingredients:

Loaf of crusty or french bread

2 Tbsp of ​Becel margarine

2 Tbsp Litehouse garlic

1 cup of cheddar/mozzarella cheese

Heat oven at 350*F. Cut the bread diagonally in slices. Top each bread with margarine. Sprinkle with garlic and add the cheese. Bake for 5-10 mins until cheese melts

Cinnamon rolls

Cinnamon rolls

Garnish with cream cheese, icing, goo or enjoy them plain. Hot or cold. Bite right into them or slowly unravel them apart. Cinnamon rolls have so many ways to be enjoyed that everyone you eat can be an experience.

Ingredients:
2 1/4 tsp instant dry yeast
1 1/4 cup milk (room temperature)
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup of Becel melted
3 1/2 cups flour
Pinch of salt

Filling:
1/4 cup of Becel melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350*F.  Mix yeast and warm milk together. Mix well and let sit for 2 minutes. Add in sugar, egg, margarine, flour and salt. Let rise for one hour. knead dough and roll into a ball. Split ball into half. Roll each half into a rectangle. Brush on melted margarine. Top with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll and cut. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Top with desired topping.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar

1/4 cup flax seed

1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of salt

2-3 ripe bananas

3/4 cup plain yogurt

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup chocolate chunk chips

Mix dry ingredients and put aside. Mash bananas then add yogurt, eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients with banana mixture and add chocolate chunks. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350*F.

Chocolate almond biscotti

Ingredients:
1 cups sugar

1/2 cup Becel margarine

2 eggs

1 tsp almond extract

2 cups flour

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

1 cup chopped almonds

Preheat oven to 350*F. Cream the sugar and margarine together. Add the eggs, one at a time. Add the vanilla extract. Mix in the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir in the almonds. Sometimes I will also add in a cup of chocolate chips.

Shape dough into a log on a baking sheet and bake for 30 mins. Slice diagonally into slices and return to baking sheet. Depending on how thick you make the slices, bake for 5-10 minutes and flip over. Bake for 5-10 minutes.

Cheesy bruschetta

Nice light snack on their own or with a pasta dish.

Ingredients:

Loaf of crusty or french bread

2 Tbsp of ​Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive oil

2 Tbsp Litehouse basil

1 Tsp Litehouse garlic

1/2 onion diced

2 cups grape tomatoes

1 cup of cheddar cheese

Cut the bread diagonally in small bite size pieces. Drizzle olive oil over bread. Top with basil, garlic and onion. Cut the grape tomatoes in half then half again. Add to top of bread and add cheese. Bake for 10-15 mins at 350*F until cheese melts.

Almond biscotti

This is the perfect snack with tea or coffee. Tastes great with hot chocolate too.

Ingredients:

1 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup Becel

2 eggs

1 tsp almond extract

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

​Pinch of salt

1/2 cup chopped/sliced almonds

 

Preheat oven to 350*F. Mix brown sugar, margarine and eggs together until smooth. Gradually add rest of ingredients. Shape dough into long rolls, then roll out until 1/2 inch thick. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden brown, depending on thickness. Take out of oven and cool for 5 mins, cut diagonally and place back in over for 5 minutes, flip them over for another 5 minutes. Decorate as desired.
